This week’s Legacy Market News Update has various information that is useful for this holiday week. Here are some key points from the report to note:
ASPARAGUS: Plenty of Asparagus in the pipeline. Good yields and shipments coming out of Peru and Mexico at this time.
GREEN ONIONS: Demand will be off this week. We are seeing good supplies and excellent quality. The market should remain steady to slightly lower.
PARSLEY: There is good quality with supplies improving over the next few weeks.
BANANAS: There is an increase in the purchase price of a box of bananas due to a drop in available volume.
HONEY DEWS: Supplies are still plentiful here on the West from Mexico with a good run of sizes and excellent quality. The market is still a little flat on honeydews.
KIWI: California kiwi sizes are mostly 33 and larger. Greek kiwi has arrived with good volume on sizes 36 and smaller. Both California and Greek are hard with well-shaped fruit.
POTATOES: Good quality, strong supplies.
CHERRY TOMATOES: Short right now, demand not as strong. Prices are firm.
