GREEN ONIONS: Quality is good this week. Market is extremely active due to supply shortage with many growers in northern Mexico because of the extremely hot weather and high humidity the past two months.
LETTUCE: Supplies are right on budget for this week. Demand and quality have been very good. The market is still trying to find the right selling point. The forecasted market for this week is steady to slightly higher due to demand for the holiday and some cooler weather predicted.
STRAWBERRIES: Strawberries are unsettled. Some regions are faring better than others, leading to a split market. Rainfall is expected in Santa Maria and Oxnard this week and next. Fruit is small, not coloring up, and quality is fair. Mexico is trying to ramp up but cannot cover demand.
GRAPE TOMATOES: There is very good production this week. Demand is good and we expect the market to go up slightly for the holiday demand. Grapes are coming out of Florida and Mexico. Quality is good.
