High Alert on Carrot Supply and Demand

This week’s (November 29th) Market News is here! Stay informed on the produce industry & continue reading below:

CARROTS: Alert! Shippers are still struggling with jumbos and tables due to labor (these are hand pack items). We continue to struggle with supply and demand. Price is increasing.

BROCCOLI: Supplies are improving this week, but still light and hoping improved supplies for next week. On a very positive note, we are seeing good quality and color in the new crop from Yuma.

LETTUCE: Supplies for this week will be at or above average. Yuma has been off to a very good start as quality is outstanding. The market is re-adjusting and trying to find the correct range.

BLACKBERRIES: Shortages in California and Mexico are causing our supply to be slightly lower than expected. The California regions are down trending, and it seems that weather has shifted with cooler days and nights which leads to longer fruit development periods.

STRAWBERRIES: Overall, we expect volumes to increase the next two weeks.
